Abstract Authors / Editors

A little over forty years after the publication of the l'Instrumentum domesticum di Ercolano e Pompei, this book seeks to take stock of the study of ceramic products in Pompeii, starting from production issues, passing to distribution issues and finally to individual ceramic assemblies in order to start again with a more methodologically oriented study of the Pompeian material. The contributions relating to production enrich both from an archaeological and archaeological point of view the debate on ceramic production, while the advancement of studies has made it possible to deal in detail with the "contours" of some classes such as black paint. The last part collects data of excavation contexts still unpublished not only in Pompeii but also in its territory.
